This half-day certification training is designed for K-12 educators, administrators, technology leaders, data managers, and support staff who are responsible for safeguarding student information. Participants will gain a practical understanding of student data privacy laws, compliance requirements, emerging risks, and best practices for protecting sensitive student data in today’s digital learning environment.

Through engaging discussions, real-world scenarios, and hands-on activities, attendees will explore key topics including FERPA, data governance, vendor management, data sharing agreements, cybersecurity awareness, artificial intelligence considerations, incident response, and creating a culture of privacy within schools. Participants will learn how to identify privacy risks, evaluate educational technology tools, and implement policies and procedures that support legal compliance and responsible data use.

Upon successful completion of the training and certification assessment, participants will earn a Student Data Privacy Certification, demonstrating their understanding of foundational privacy principles and their commitment to protecting student information.
